FINDING ROVER: Mobile App Finds Lost Pets Using Real-Time Face Recognition

Miami-Dade County Animal Services becomes the first shelter in the state of Florida to partner with Finding Rover, a free smartphone app that helps pet-owners find their lost dogs in real-time using facial recognition technology according to NBC 6 South Florida news.

It’s estimated that more than 10 million pets go missing each year.  Simply register your dog by taking a picture.  The app sends a push notification if a dog is lost or found.

The Animal Services database of lost dogs will be automatically uploaded to Finding Rover.

The app works on both the iPhone and Android phone and or can be accessed via the company’s website at www.findingrover.com.
