A growing number of pet owners are hiring dog massage therapists to ensure their animals have a high quality of life. As its popularity continues to grow, so does the debate about how best to regulate this category of pet services.
Not all states classify pet massage as a form of veterinary care which would require a license from the state’s veterinary licensing board.
For example, earlier this year the Arizona State Veterinary Medical Examining Board which regulates all veterinary practices with in the state of Arizona issued cease-and-desist letters to 3 different animal massage practitioners according to the Oroville Mercury Register.
