A recently released WHITE PAPER from Vetsource (offers pharmacy, technology and business services for the pet industry), revealed that veterinary patient visits were on average down 3.1% per practice in 2025 compared to the previous year — wellness visits and product-only visits dropped by 3.8% and 6.2%, respectively.
The 3.8% drop in wellness visits indicates clients are continuing to stretch the time between annual exams or forgo preventive care altogether.
The negative visit trend continues, similar to the last two years (-2.6% in 2024 and -1.4% in 2023).
