Petco Love Launches The First National Database Using Pet-Facial Recognition Technology To Reunite Lost Pets

Petco Love (formerly the Petco Foundation), a national nonprofit animal welfare organization has recently LAUNCHED “Petco Love Lost” to help reunite lost pets with their families should they ever go missing. 1 in 3 pets will go missing in their lifetime according to Petco Love President, Susanne Kogut.

Petco Love Lost is a new searchable national database that uses patented facial recognition technology to make finding lost pets quicker and easier. At it’s launch date, more than 1,000 animal welfare organizations and pet industry partners were participating in this new national program.

Uploaded photos of a missing pet are immediately scanned to determine whether there is a match at a participating shelter or neighbor in the community, providing initial results in less than a minute.
